International Award for Kranjska Sausage Masterpieces from Slovenia

The monograph Kranjska Sausage Masterpieces from Slovenia has won the prestigious Gourmand World Cookbook Award, awarded to the best cook books.

The monograph is the work of an internationally recognized award-winning author team, consisting of author Professor Dr Janez Bogataj, designer Žare Kerin and photographer Janez Pukšič.

It shows the path of the sausage from its "prehistory" to present-day, and goes on to present a range of creative culinary delights, prepared by the Slovenian master chefs of the sixteen selected restaurants. "Carniolan sausage – skeweringly good since 1896" was the starting point for the preparation of forty-six original recipes with photographs, seventeen cold and hot appetizers, seventeen main dishes and even twelve desserts.
